Michael Jordan1986-87 Fleer Stickers #8
Jordan’s #8 sticker has its own checklist position, backing and condition questions.
An intact Fleer sticker lets you collect a different piece of Jordan’s early Fleer history alongside the familiar #57 card. The face can look attractive at first glance while the backing tells a second story. Give both sides equal attention before choosing an example.
Locate the sticker entry
In the 1986-87 Fleer run, Jordan is regular card #57 and sticker #8. The next season’s Fleer sticker is #2. Record the word “sticker” and the season along with the number when searching auction archives. Those details prevent a search for early Jordan material from blending three distinct items. 2 3
The player behind the card
The 1986–87 sticker captures Jordan in the season he averaged 37.1 points per game. He was already several seasons into his NBA career when Fleer issued it; an early Fleer checklist and a player’s debut timeline tell different stories. 6 7

Examine the backing in place
Start with a full reverse image. Look for irregular areas, staining, writing or missing paper, and compare the perimeter with the front. Then view the face at a shallow angle to see whether any lifting or crease is visible. Leave the backing attached. Where a photograph conceals part of the reverse, ask for another image before comparing the example to an intact graded sticker. 3 4
Keep the sale types visible
PSA’s similar-item history for a PSA 8 sticker reports a September 7, 2026 Fanatics Collect auction at $4,080 and a September 9 eBay auction at $4,150. It also lists a $3,400 best offer on September 9. Retaining the venue, sale type and date makes the spread easier to interpret. Open the original lots and compare qualifier status and backing condition before using the results to set a bid. 1

Collector questions
How do I collect the card and sticker as a pair?
Label them 1986-87 Fleer #57 and 1986-87 Fleer Sticker #8. Keep separate price histories even if you display them together.
Should I separate the backing to check the sticker?
Leave it intact. Clear photographs of the face, back and edges are the appropriate starting point.
