Auston Matthews2016-17 Upper Deck #201 · Young Guns base
Matthews occupies the first Young Guns slot in Series 1, and a second Toronto card closes the run.
Toronto collectors have two different Matthews entries to recognize in the 2016–17 Upper Deck Series 1 Young Guns checklist. The individual card is #201. The shared checklist card is #250 with William Nylander. Either can belong in a Leafs collection, and the distinction changes what you search for.
A Leafs run in three numbers
Upper Deck places Matthews at #201, Nylander at #249 and the Matthews/Nylander checklist at #250. That gives a Toronto collector a tidy three-card group from one series. To buy the individual Matthews card, read the number from the reverse first. A photo showing both players or a title ending in CL should lead you back to the checklist entry before you compare prices. 1
The player behind the card
Matthews scored 40 goals in his first Toronto season. The individual #201 is the place to tell that story; the multi-player checklist serves a different purpose in the same set. 4

The other #201
The manufacturer also lists a Jumbo Young Guns parallel of Matthews #201, distributed through a Jumbo Blaster. An online photograph cropped to the card edges can make scale hard to judge. Ask the seller to identify the format explicitly or show the whole card beside a standard-size example. A matching number settles the checklist slot but leaves the size question open. 1
Choose a standard-format copy
Once the format is clear, compare the visible corners and edges with those of another standard #201 in the same grade. If a bright line appears along an edge, request a view in different light. Record whether you can still see it in the second photo. That lets you compare an actual appearance difference instead of paying a premium based on a reflection in one scan. 1
